About

I started drawing when I was quite young, beginning, as many young artists do, with cartoon creatures. Soon, I grew bored of line drawings and progressed to detailed pencil portraits of individuals, including detailed facial studies.I moved on to abstract art and eventually combined self-study with reflected study under the mentorship of gifted portrait painter, David Aldrich. My hyper-realistic paintings reflect the little treasures we walk by and seldom notice. My passion has always been the world captured within Indigenous flora in their natural setting.  My work in environmental health for the past 36 years has given me an appreciation of, and insight for, preserving nature. I especially love the raw, wonderful settings of each of the different seasons – from the full bloom of summer to the stark contrast of fall and the icy elegance of winter's beauty. The journey continues.
